Send-along! 10/07/2009

 froOkay, for those interested and able to take part in the sending-along-of-card marathon, please drop a comment on the post - not in the tagbox, but on the post itself. :D I just want to make sure I can keep track of those who can take part.

Soo, if your parents won't throw a hissy fit when you receive letters from internet friends, you'll be around home for the next two to three months (this is a very TENTATIVE period of time as I won't be deciding a date until everyone tells me when they'll be away - if at all - so please comment even if you're going on a trip in November as I'll try to figure it out?).

Here's how things will go (let's assume at least five people decided to join):

First of all, the first person on the list will have to get hold of a card (preferably larger than usual, but it doesn't have to be kick-ass huge) and maybe label it on the inside with their name (real or online handle) so receivers know which card they have to send on.

Senders may choose to include a second card, which can be kept by the receiving party (so everyone gets a little something out of the send-along). This is entirely OPTIONAL.

NO items/money may be included in the envelope. Only the card, or a letter, or another card. Do not even enclose bookmarks. We want to minimize the chances of the card being stolen as much as possible. D:

Card must be sent on after a period of 3 days (or, how many days do you guys think is reasonable?).

If there are questions...ask away. xD I can compile a mini FAQ if anyone wants further clarification or easier reading. xD

Now, I leave you with a few more random links - really, my bookmarks are getting so cluttered it's...it's spectacularly messy. xD

Oh, I never mentioned the 'fun computer trick', did I? xD Apparently, if you insert it in your browser address bar, it makes all the images on your page go round and round...best way to test is by Googling some images and trying them on the results. xD It's ridiculously funny, for some reason...maybe it's just me...xD

Instructions (copy-pasta and credit to ♥CG♥ from Wajas):

javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.getElementsByTagName("img"); DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position='absolute'; DIS.left=(Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5)+"px"; DIS.top=(Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5)+"px"}R++}setInterval('A()',5); void(0);

go to a page with lots of pictures (or any pictures at least, even do it here on Wajas!), copy this code and paste it into your address bar of your browser, press enter and wala! All the pictures on the page swirl around! Hope you like it! If you've tried it out and liked it please post here :)

Anyone game to try? xD

So I'm game~. =D Three days sounds perfectly fair, but I actually think that the card should be a regular size - or at least fit in a regular envelope. Because if something is bigger postage might cost more, right? 0_o It counts on how much bigger, but still.

Also, I guess we'd be sending it continent to continent? Or well, more like closest people to closest people. Say like, rage-chan wouldn't send it to me and then have me send it back to say, Vio and then back to somebody in the America of the North - it'd be way expensive. XD

And question - would we put it in a new envelope each time, I guess? 0_o For new stamps each time. 'Cause that's why I suggested a normal sized envelope, 'cause most people will have one XD

MEMEME. I want to make a pretty card. Can I send along a pedobear? Not with the card, of course, but separately as like a package or something. 8DDD

Um, I guess you could. Make the pedobear and send separately if you'd like. xD I shall post again tomorrow, so keep an eye on the website? :D
